The culm (above-ground or aerial stem) ends with inflorescence that consists of two slender, almost horizontal racemes. On each raceme are solitary spikelets (grass flower units) packed in two rows, having their adjacent edges overlapped each other. The dry fruit (caryopsis), about 1 mm long, is broadly ovoid with ciliated (hair-liked projections) margins, allowing it to cling to surfaces that aid in its dispersion.
